My Name is GRiZ and | HuffPost
GRiZ, a year-old musician from Southfield, posted the blog in Huffington Post this week, coming out as gay for the first time. He plays saxophone and other instruments. The artist says Detroit has had a big impact on his career.
An advocate for the community, GRiZ made headlines in June when he wrote a piece for Huffington Post coming out as gay before releasing his sixth studio album. Founded in by Jonathan Shokrian, MeUndies has built a business using targeted ads and digital content taking a stand on issues such as same-sex marriage, body positivity and slut shaming. Kwiecinski was born and raised in Southfield, Michigan , a suburb of Detroit. In elementary school, Kwiecinski was first introduced to the alto sax as well as the piano. After growing up on big horn sounds of funk groups like The Meters , Kwiecinski found himself gravitating towards that influence when he first began making his own music in college.
