I get many emails each week asking for advice on upholstering that first piece of furniture. If you start small and gradually build up to more difficult pieces you will probably have less frustration and save money. Making the wrong cuts in your fabric, putting fabric on in the wrong order or choosing the wrong materials is costly. Even after the 17 years that we have been doing this we still use a camera every day.
Students will be guided through the steps of removing old fabric, cutting foam and fabric and upholstering furniture. Instructions will be given in minor repairs, webbing and tying springs. Most upholstery materials are provided. Tool need and fabric yardage will be discussed during the first class. Students are responsible for purchasing their own fabric. Furniture must be approved by the instructor.
